This program offers a reading schedule that will lead you through a portion of the Scriptures each day or week of the year. The readings will help foster your spiritual growth as you engage in private study and reflection and as you share ideas or questions through the internet with others in the program. You can begin the readings in January of each year, or start anytime and simply progress through the series.
Each week, you'll be provided a brief overview of what you will be reading, highlighting the different passages will be offered. This background will help assist your reading, both in terms of understanding and for spiritual formation.

Martin Luther once said, "The Bible is alive, it speaks to me. It has feet, it runs after me; it has hands, it lays hold of me." The purpose of this program is to help you listen to a word from God for your life, to dig more deeply and reflectively, and to begin to better discern the holy conversation the Bible has with itself as inspired mortals strive to describe an ineffable God. For spiritual formation, after you've read each designated passage, continue to wonder about the passage as you go through your day. Ask yourself, "What is God saying to me in this passage?" Read the passage expectantly and prayerfully, in the faith that God wants to touch you deeply. to touch you deeply. Before you begin your daily or weekly reading, you may want to visit our Guided Prayer pages or visit the spiritual formation page in order to center yourself without distractions in more prayerful reading.
